It’s funny that those used to be desirable characteristics in hot dogs. Now it has gone the opposite way. people want natural casings and a “snap” which actually means “hard to cut.” Maybe the fact that there is a demand for “old school” hot dogs and such is a good sign. Maybe the post war trend of fake processed food is just a trend? I sure hope so, but I’m not holding my breath.

Why San Francisco Pizza is so Horrible.

I have been saying that the pizza here is total crap ever since I moved. How could a town that supposedly has a “Little Italy” have such subpar pizza? I keep trying new places and get excited when I find one rises above crappy to the level of mediocre. Anyways, enough of my rant. Here is what Wired and Iron Chef Mario Batali’s have to say:

“Californians do a lot of great stuff with their green-market goods,” fellow pizza nerd Mario Batali says, but “some of it’s just not pizza.” I called the Iron Chef to help me figure out why San Francisco — a formidable food town — can’t birth a respectable pie. Part of the reason, of course, is that while Rice-A-Roni and zinfandel are native to Northern California, pizza is not.

So the latest step in veganist fundamentalism is to revamp the eugenics movement. Vegans only breed with plant-based people now. No carnivores or omnivores allowed!

I love Dairy Queen. I can hardly think of a better way to spend a stop along a lengthy road trip. This is especially is true in Texas where they have a better menu. This new Logo is very puzzling for me. I guess I understand making the DQ drip shape a little more symmetrical. I guess there is maybe a good reason somewhere for the bold and italics, but the swooshy things are absolutely offensive. Why swooshes? I thought we stopped doing arbitrary swooshes after the dot-com bubble? Why blue and orange? Maybe the blue signifies the coldness of the DQ Blizzard and the orange possibly represents corn dogs or something. Nobody will ever no for sure.

I have a very serious problem with comic sans.

I am thinking about changing my student loans because of this.
First of all comic sans is one of the worst typefaces ever devised. I express my solidarity with this fellow. Who would ever allow comic sans to be used for a user interface? I would show a larger picture to show the full extent of the awful UI but that would reveal personal information and the full extent of my student loan debt.
